Tetsu on the radio

When you leave a banana next to a computer's hard drive for 2 days,
the side facing the hard drive will turn completely gelly brown,
but only on the inside - the skin outside the banana will remain yellow.
It's an herb anyway.

Tonite's episode of The Unwrinkled Ear will feature the work of maestro Tetsu Saitoh, exclusively.

This bass-playing wonder-mack will be heard playing solo
in duet
in trios
with this quintet playing Astor Piazzola's music:
                    Tetsu Saitoh: bass
                    Koichi Hiroki: guitar
                    Hiroshi Yoshino: bass
                    Yoshihiro Tanabe: guitar, bandoneon
                    Ryojiro Furusawa: percussion, pianica

and with several large ensembles

Think lots of strings + lots of percussion

9:00-10:30pm California time on www.killradio.org

Theme Party is running for Reelection!!

Hi citizens!

Theme Party's back tonight and we've got Election Fever! Why? Because it's the Republic of Theme Party's Mid Term election and Kiss My fist and The Eligible Ross Lincoln are vying for the highest Offices In The Land. So join us and vote for Theme Party: Reelection!

We'll talk about the elections going on in neighboring The USA, elections past and present, political attack ads, political scandals and of course, we'll smear and sling mud at our political and musical enemies (who probably don't realize we exist). We'll also play our nominations for best music from our collections and set up the tremendously important Best of 2006.

To exercise your constitutional rights, just head over to our Myspace profile , or to Kill Radio , and click the handy listen buttons. While you're there, you can IM us via AIM - our ID is themepartyradio.

Also, while you're over at our myspace page you might notice that we've regularly update our calender with tons of great events put on by our close personal friends. There's plenty for you to do. Oh, and you'll also be able to keep informed about upcoming episodes of Theme Party and future themes while you're at it. It's really quite wonderful. For you.

Oh, and lest we forget: We know you're not always able to listen to Theme party on Friday nights, and because we understand we record every episode for later consumption. To download old theme party episodes and enjoy them, just head over to Kill Radio , and visit the Archives. Whenever a new episode is uploaded we'll be on the main page, but you can always search the Archives for "Theme Party Radio".

So we'll see you tonight?

Huzzah,
Theme Party

Cecil Taylor in Newport

Tonite on the Unwrinkled Ear radio program we will have a special guest
and music from some wonderful albums:

The new Kent Carter String Trio disc on Emanem (who would have thought that Kent and Albrecht could keep up the beauty they delivered on their Willisau Suites years ago? and with the addition of another? Surpassing magnifique.)

the Kashmere Stage Band (who would have thought that discipline + high school could equal such rich pristine funk?)

The Cecil Taylor quartet live in Newport in 1957 (wow-bringer)

All that plus the damage of guest intersplicer DJ Deyoe B-Boy R D-Dog

The program airs on www.killradio.org from 9:00-10:30pm California time
and archives are available at www.radio4all.net

Do you know how other radio station have fundraisers? We shave fundraisers into this one sliced message: www.killradio.org is experiencing a small financial debacle that looks like matted hair, sucrets and clumped aluminum up close. If you could donate anything (there's a "donate now" button to click on our homepage) you could help our financial debacle look instead like a sweet thick purple syrup balanced skillfully on the edge of a spoon, ready to soothe.
