hair chorus
Instead of acting like a bunch of gangsters waiting for a visit from the razortooth fairy, please welcome the return of The Unwrinkled Ear back on the radiowaves this evening.
The show will be broadcast beginning at 21:00 PST on Thursday www.killradio.org
I'd like some 1920s musical saw duets with Hawaiian guitar so we'll have Sam Moore and Leroy Smeck dole out a couple
There's a quartet of Hawkins Lash May and Ward called Barkingside on the consistently compelling Emanem label that speaks Basenjis to all available
Thanks to the Bandit label, Altyrone Deno Brown's "Sweet Pea" session can come to yet another bloom tonite
Can I get a chorus of "Hair Y'all!"?
Yay! Sam Moore - one of my heros. Thank you for that!
All the best,
Saw Lady

Unwrinkled Ear Back
There are many open positions for barbacks being advertised in newspaper employment listings all over the world.
But we will have ear backs tonite.
From 21:00-22:30 PST on www.killradio.org, Thursday
I really loved the Furt record from last year, so we'll furt that.
I have also been enjoying Kaori Osawa's new solo disc "Aluminum," so aluminum.
And Tatsuya's duos with Uchihashi - thanks Kenny! - need to be spread out.
Henri Chopin died in the interim between our last show and tonite's, and he deserves a tribute.
Don't forget about our archives at www.radio4all.net
It's a radio show for people who find movies too slow

tune out the angels and tune into the world
The Unwrinkled Ear has two announcements.
The first, easiest:
Tonite from 21:00-22:30 California Time, Thursday on www.killradio.org
we will do a special on Paal Nilssen-Love's new label, PNL records.
They've released a duo by Paal with Lasse Marhaug and another of Paal with organist Nils Henrik Asheim.
And we'll also do a big feature on composer, violist and bassist Szilárd MEZEI.
We'll taste solo, duo, trio, quintet stuff all the way up to ten piece ensemble work from this incredible Hungarian/ Serbian/ Yugoslavian musician.
The second announcement, much harder:
the Jazzgalerie in Nickesldorf, Austria is under attack by the Austrian government.
More details in the two attachements.
The Unwrinkeld Ear would not exist were it not for the incredible work of this concert venue over the last 30 years. As I understand it, the government is accusing Hans of running his establishment - which has championed improvised music and musicians from all over the world - solely for his own personal enrichment, thus charging him for years of back taxes. Obviously, if his venue can deeply affect the life of a boy from South Carolina, his work in the Austrian countryside is not just about himself.
If you have an interest in supporting the music you hear on The Unwrinkled Ear, please take the time to write an email to the email addresses provided in the attachment, and consider helping any other way you can.
Tune in tonite

coffee and bee-sting cakes
Over 3,000 2nd rate graduate students thought of Jim Morrison's "weird scenes inside the gold mine" when they first learned of Plato's cave.
They all have jobs working for NPR now.
I do a show on www.killradio.org from 21:00-22:30 PST on Thursdays.
Tonite's grist will flower.

alphamaiden
If mosquitos have lately been singing their good luck into your skin, i've got something for that...a little bad smile.
The Unwrinkeld ear radio program will feature an alphamaiden guest in the studio tonite, and we'll play music by:
Eddie Gale
the Eple Trio,
and I'd like to play the song "Lame Cafe" by The Unawares for your human pleasure.
The show will be broadcast live on the internet at www.killradio.org from 21:00-22:30 Pacific Coast time, and then a couple days later it will be archived on www.radio4all.net
As one of last week's listeners called up and asked me:
"What the fuck wormhole did you get snorted inside?"

reverse vixen burst
While compartmentalization seems to be the order of
the day as far as surviving modern life is concerned,
the artistry of Mike Cooper makes a case for
deslotting such harsh zoning.
With formidable creativity, this guitarist pursues
field recordings, improvisation, electronics, country
and Hawaiian music.
We're going to hear a bunch of it on
www.killradio.org from 21:00-22:30 PST Thursday
We're also going to bathe in the windy grit of
saxophonist Martin Kuchen's new solo record on Sillon
and the new Potlatch sax
quartet "Propagations" featuring Marc Baron/ Bertrand
Denzler/ Jean-Luc Guionnet and Stephane Rives.
If you can figure out how to photograph an active
throat tickle (cough itch), email us back and you can
win/ absorb a free download.

Haden in the studio
The Unwrinkled Ear returns tonite with bassist Josh Haden live in the studio.
He'll play a bit, talk about the revival of his band Spain, spin some records and unwrinkle all the while.
We've been away working on other things for three weeks, so please put your ribs back on the heat and tune in to www.killradio.org from 9:00-10:30 PST Thursday

ear trumpet remedy
It wouldn't be offensive if it wasn't so hidden, that need to have more sound inside.
Relief comes in the form of guests tonite on The Unwrinkled Ear.
We'll have a live performance of a duo on ukulele, gameboy and voices:
Casey James and The Staypuft Kid www.cjspk.com

A recent piece of writing about the Konfrontationen festival in Nickelsdorf is online now, and written by me: http://www.facsimilemagazine.com/2007/09/index.html
It will be like the melting of some sweet reward in the mouth,
then we'll be off the air for two weeks, and back on Sept. 27th,
faith without reason.

Inside the Tingle Jangle
Last week we were semi-bad boys. We said we were going to play only Yugoslovenian music from one record store, and we played some Italian stuff too. And even some Brazilian hip-hop at one point.
But the thing that mattered was that we did limit ourselves to music that we found in Ljubjana.
And Italy's a neighbor anyway.
The thing is, this week's episode of The Unwrinkled Ear will exclusively feature non-yugoslovenian music and non-konfrontationen related musics that were found in Austria and Slovenia.
This music will be broadcast from 21:00-23:00 Thursday night Hollywood time on www.killradio.org
We're going to hear radio work (more like spiele) from Ferdinand Kriwet
Dudu Pukwana in a Johnny Dyani Quartet
OKWESS International featuring saratong inventor Roger Lendu
Mediteranean Honky Tonk from Carlo Actis Dato's 2002 band
